Keep an eye on the health of network infrastructure via monitoring tools
Diagnose and escalate, if required, network issues to various stakeholders i.e. Network Planning team, Support teams, IP transit and Long-haul provider for immediate restoration.
Proactively identify, diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to IP/Data/MPLS VPN customers.
Document each individual problem and its resolution into central repository.
Update internal monitoring/reporting system with updated information in order to ensure smooth operation.
Carry out activation, configuration and programming of various network elements for service provisioning.
Install new hardware or software systems, while ensuring integration with existing network systems.
Ensure closure of issues via email/phone correspondence with various stakeholders.
Network monitoring, support and administration experience, preferably from ISP industry.
Understanding of technologies like VLSM, Static routing, OSPF, BGP, RIP, MPLS, Metro Ethernet, Layer2 switching, tunneling protocols.
Certifications: CCNA/CCNP R&S preferred.
Networking: OSI Layer, Knowledge of Switches, Routers, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP Suite.
Ability to work in teams and independently with candid professional attitude and excellent analytical problem solving skills.
Expertise on Linux/Unix with scripting on programming languages will be preferred.
Willing to work in shifts environment (24×7).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focused and result oriented personality.
