Orientation and Sending Off Ceremony for MEXT Scholarships Students
On March 13, 2018, the Consulate General of Japan in Karachi organized the orientation and sending off ceremony for Pakistani research students to study in Japan from the coming April by the Japanese government scholarships program called “MEXT Scholarships”.
“MEXT Scholarships” is a program offered by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to provide an opportunity for students of research, teacher training, undergraduate university, Japanese studies, college of technology and special training around the world to study in Japanese universities.
In his speech at the event, Mr. Toshikazu ISOMURA, Consul General of Japan in Karachi, expressed his pleasure that three students were successfully selected for the MEXT scholarships from Sindh, and hoped that their study experience in Japan would contribute to development of science and technology through such an exchange and also promotion of mutual understanding between the people of Japan and Pakistan.
The next application procedure of the MEXT Scholarship program will start from April. The Consulate General of Japan in Karachi will have outreach sessions about the program at universities and institutions around Sindh and Baluchistan in order to invite more students to apply.
