The post holder will assist the cook in preparing & wash up food such as vegetables. Working within the culture, mission & vision of BIH to provide a comprehensive, diverse and quality catering service for patients & their families, staff and visitors. You’ll ensure maintaining clean kitchen and promote healthy lifestyles and wellbeing.

As post holder, you are responsible for the tasks such as but not limited to the following:

• Prepare food such as vegetables for the cook
• Wash up, by hand or using a dishwasher
• Keep kitchen areas clean and clear tables
• Load meals onto trolleys to go to wards and other parts of the hospital
• Serve meals to staff in a cafeteria
• Operate a till and handle cash
• Any task assigned by Cook or Kitchen Manager

Academic Qualification: Preferably Intermediate or matric, certification in Food safety and Cooking is a plus

Experience: 2 years of experience in relevant field preferably in healthcare organization

Skills & Abilities:

• Willing to work in hot & noisy conditions
• Physically fit for standing, moving and lifting
• Flexible, adaptable & team player
• Awareness of food hygiene and food safety
