Job purpose

• E2E Accountability and Responsibility for the successful availability of the IT Infrastructure – Servers and VMs.
• Day to day monitoring of HW, OS, and VM. Drive analysis and resolution of any fault. Coordinate with 3PP for the resolution of faults. Monitor backup status every day, troubleshoot any failure, escalate, and coordinate with the vendor for a resolution, period testing of restoration.
• Ensure Successful cross-collaboration across team and services reporting

Duties and responsibilities

• Experience in Operating Systems: RHEL, and other Multi UNIX flavors, Windows
• Experience in providing solutions to Web and Application Servers: Apache / Nginx / HTTP running on LINUX OS
• Virtualization: VMware ESXi/KVM/Xen.
• Experience providing Tier 3 level support
• Scripting language experience is preferred
• F5 load balancer.
• Juniper, Firewall, router/switch
• Experience with Ruby, Python, and SCM frameworks like Chef/Puppet/Fabric is desirable.
• Experience with: administering a pool of Linux servers, Virtualization, SAN/NAS, SQL, Load balancing, application monitoring/backup technologies, web/database server administration is desirable.
• Experience in Bash/Ruby/Python/Perl
• Extensive knowledge of UNIX processes, ability to build a process from the scratch and implement across the organization. Optimize security process with the help of new technology.
• Apply the architecture methodology for developing a UNIX IT solution. Ability to prepare the required documentation to support the solution (such as network placement diagram, user reference guide, etc)
• Ensuring development of global solutions and optimizing the reuse of existing platforms/technology as well as already developed solutions and functions.
• Provide the optimum solution in Server, Storage, Networking, and Middleware services
• Good knowledge of OS Internals and understanding of the implementation life cycle.
• Good knowledge of UNIX tools such as TCP/IP netstat, iostat, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP and IT Incident & Event Management.
• Have adequate knowledge on performing IT Assessment of the IT infrastructure also having the ability to guide the teams.
• Perform periodic review of the UNIX IT policies and standards to ensure that the IT infrastructure is aligned with technology standards.
• Provide subject matter expertise in dealing with client issues and help the operation teams in early resolutions.
• Ability to manage and lead individuals assigned to a particular project.
• Candidate should demonstrate good communication and writing skills.

Skills

• 5-12 years’ experience as System Administrator
• OEM Certifications
• Telco Environment Experience

Education

• University degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related discipline
