Pakistan was the sixth country in the world to sign and ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child, less than one year after it was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1989. However, children and adolescents living in Pakistan still face acute challenges.
UNICEF supports the Government of Pakistan to accelerate progress for children, work to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and help children realize their rights under the Convention on the Rights of Children. This will be made through, among other things, strong partnerships with provincial authorities, teachers and health professionals, frontline workers and social mobilisers, communities and families, and of course the children and adolescents themselves.

Under the general guidance of the supervisor, and in close coordination with the Chief of the Communication for Development, responsible for the design, formulation, management, execution, monitoring and evaluation of a behavioral change and social mobilization strategy, plan of action and programme activities in support of the country programme.
The incumbent will support the Health Manager to track implementation at field offices level to ensure that planned activities result in the achievement of its intended outputs in a cost effective and timely manner.
She/he will also be promoting the dissemination and use of lessons learned from different interventions implemented, for knowledge management on Health SBCC and wider information sharing with relevant stakeholders.
To make a difference you will be accountable for the following key duties & tasks:
1. MNCAH and PHC programme communication programme strategy, plan and implementation for behavioural change:
Designs, manages, and facilitates the implementation of programme communication strategy, plan of action and activities for strategic communication and promotion for social and behavioural change in support of country programme delivery.
2. MNCAH and PHC Programme communication materials:
Organizes the research, development, pre-testing, and production of culturally relevant health communication materials.
3. Partnerships for social mobilization for MNCAH and PHC:
Develops and enhances strong partnerships with community groups, leaders and other partners in the community and civil society for promotion of participation in social and behavioural changes supportive of programme goals.
4. Capacity building support for MNCAH and PHC:
Develops training materials and activities to build capacity for participatory and behaviour change communication.
5. Coordination and collaboration with government and partners on COVID 19 Communication related to MNCAH issues:
Collaborate with Chief of C4D to provides effective coordination and technical support to government counterparts and other partners in the development and strategic use of communication for social development skills related to COVID 19 health issues.
6. Coordination and collaboration with government and partners working on MNCAH and PHC:
Provides effective coordination and technical support to government counterparts and other partners in the development and strategic use of communication for social development.
7. Monitoring and evaluation for SBCC on MNCAH and PHC:
Monitor and evaluate programme activities and prepare monitoring and evaluation reports. Exchange findings, experiences, lessons learned and new methods with partners.
8. Budget planning and management of program funds for SBCC on MNCAH and PHC:
Participate in the budget planning and ensure the compliance and the optimal appropriation of allocated programme funds.
