Job Description

 
We have an immediate need for a full-stack WordPress developer for our US Based Projects. The ideal candidate has a thorough understanding of WordPress development standards and best practices. Strong front-end skills and experience creating and working with custom themes is required.
You’ll spend your day (in order of most time spent):

 

  • Translate exact replica of PSD and AI designs into HTML & WordPress
  • Creating pixel perfect websites for desktop and mobile via WordPress
  • Creating landing pages and forms that get our clients leads and sales (HTML & CSS)
  • Working closely with a large, cross-functional team of designers, marketers, and web devs
  • Editing WordPress themes to be 20% more awesome
  • Building emails and templates in MailChimp
  • Optimizing the user interfaces of sites
  • Updating sites and fixing bugs
  • Dealing with random hosting, DNS, and website issues that pop up
  • Collaborating and problem solving with the creative and digital teams to create unique digital solutions to meet our clients’ needs and exceed their expectations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The most important qualification is a willingness and ability to learn! Desired requirements for this position includes:

  •  
    Be a problem solver and ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time
  •  
    1 or 2 years of WordPress, HTML5 and CSS3 Responsive Design experience (editing premade wordpress themes is not experience)
  •  
    Ability to operate Photoshop and Illustrator at a basic level (to translate PSD and AI designs into HTML & WordPress)
  •  
    Building UI’s to specifications based on provided PSD mockups
  •  
    Implementing WP-Plugins when plugins are ideal (and knowing when they aren’t)
  •  
    Implementing 3rd-party libraries and basic APIs
  •  
    Social media API experience
  •  
    Google Maps API experience
  •  
    Front End Frameworks – Foundation, Bootstrap, etc
  •  
    Javascript (jQuery is great, JSON is a plus)
  •  
    Experience with ControlPanel, PHPmyAdmin, and databases
  •  
    PHP coding ability
  •  
    Ability to use web inspectors (Chrome, Firefox, whatever)
  •  
    Exposure to hosting a dev site or local test server (for example MAMP or WAMP)
