What is Risk Expert?

Risk Expert DFS role entails engaging with key stakeholders to deliver on overall strategy, planning amp; direction related to risk amp; controls

The role reports directly to the Head DFS Strategy amp; Projects.

What does Risk Expert do?

• Ensure that fraud risk framework and policies satisfy and exceed all appropriate regulatory requirements in relation to Fraud Risk Management.
• Promote an enterprise culture of Fraud Risk awareness and training in respective area.
• Build close relationships with Business Unit counterparts for Fraud Risk Management.
• Coordinate fraud risk management activities at all levels within the organization along with coordination with Mobilink Microfinance Bank.
• Monitor unusual transactions, take appropriate actions and report to senior Management timely.
• Prepare summary of fraud events and action(s) taken by the management.
• Actively participate in selection of systems/ tools used for Fraud Risk Management, ensuring organization’s requirements are met and support enterprise framework and policy.
• Ensure timely initial responses to fraud incidents/ events and longer-term remediation efforts to reduce likelihood / impact by ensuring the implementation of relevant control/ process enhancements.
• Ensure coordination of appropriate Fraud Investigation activities through agreed structures to ensure appropriate and timely initial responses to Fraud incidents / events and longer-term remediation efforts to reduce likelihood / impact by ensuring the implementation of relevant control / process enhancements.
• Coordinate with Internal Audit on internal and/ or external fraud investigations and liaison with security agencies.
• Identify opportunities to improve anti-fraud controls and reduce impact / likelihood of fraud risk.
• Assess emerging fraud risks, including those related to new products or significant processes.
• Ensure compliance on all fraud risk reporting requirements both internal and external.
• Provide independent guidance on projects to identify, quantify and recommend risk reduction strategies.
• Design an annual review plan of all Key and Non Key controls with relevant Process and Control Owners covering processes alignment with policies, system integrity, and adequacy of asset safeguard along with completeness and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Design controls for deficient processes as identified by various internal and external audits including those covering the Compliance Control Framework of JAZZ. Ensure implementation post stakeholder alignment.
• Verify compliance with the key control framework and relevant JAZZ policies by performing internal reviews and identifying opportunities for improvement where needed.
• Support the Accounts and finance team in digital initiatives including data analytics and robotics to improve efficiency while ensuring optimal control environment
• Build robust proactive risk mitigation processes in partnership with businesses covering present and future scenarios.
• To respond swiftly to any cases of fraud displaying a zero-tolerance policy
• Be responsible for performing analysis and review of risk management, compliance monitoring and to implement a control framework and processes for compliance.
• Proactive monitoring of business to support risk reduction and identify integrity issues.
• The delivery of accurate and concise business intelligence related to risk trending

• 5-8 years’ relevant work experience - ACCA/CA finalist / MBA Finance/ Risk /Banking
• Self-driven and intellectually curious individual able to carry out impactful discussions with senior stakeholders influencing strategic priorities
• Analytical thinking and reasoning
• Communication/negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
