Role Summary

The RPG Programmer is required to deliver his subject matter expertise as it relates to financial system programming and is responsible for deploying his technical expertise with IBM i or Power i platform.

We are looking for an experienced individual with at least 3 - 5 years of professional experience in designing and developing code in RPG, generating reports, and fixing bugs. People with previous US or International Projects experience will be preferred. This role will be home based and part-time up to 20 hours per week (4 hours per day). It does require US working hours and attendance between the timeslot of 9 A.M - 3 P.M US EASTERN TIME, Monday To Friday with occasional changes based on New Work or Go Live dates.

A working internet connection, Development Computer, and a Smart Mobile is required. This is an independent contractor position and no company equipment or expense reimbursement is offered.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing code in RPG, generating reports, and fixing bugs
• Developing, testing, implementing, and documenting changes of programs and applications
• Maintain existing Power i applications and develop new applications from user specifications

• Developing and testing code, enhancing and testing existing applications

• Developing technical documentation

• Analyzing programming applications to detect, diagnose, and correct problems using RPG (Report Program Generator) programming language

• Staying up-to-date on emerging technologies

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.

· Candidate must have 3 - 5 years of RPG Programming experience with IBM i or Power i platform

· Candidate must have 3 - 5 years of payment Gateway Programming experience.

• Experience with SQL, MSQuery, HTML, RPGILE, CLLE, XML, JSON, API, ERP systems

• Ability to work independently, as well as a part of a team
• Strong experience working in Agile methodologies and SCRUM execution
• Expertise in working with Jira,Git, Github, Bit bucket, source control, Confluence and SLACK
