Job Description

Introduction

The Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognized regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. It comprises of five major operational units: Epidemiology & biostatistics, Health policy & management, Population & Reproductive Health, Environmental Health, and Non-communicable diseases & Mental Health.

PURE is a 15-year research study that will track changing lifestyle, risk factors and chronic diseases using periodic standardised data collection in urban and rural areas. The research explores a range of factors to understand whether, and how they influence the development of cardiovascular disease.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • assist supervisor in carrying out research activities
  • assist in data management including editing, coding, entry and cleaning of data
  • identify training needs of survey team
  • participate in the development of training material
  • organise periodic trainings for survey teams
  • coordinate logistical and administrative tasks for the project
  • ensure timely uploading of data on central server
  • perform ECG tests on cardia device.

Requirements

You should have:
  • a minimum of Bachelor’s degree
  • a minimum of one to two years’ experience in research setting
  • ability to understand basics of a research project
  • good command of written and spoken English and Urdu (particularly Sindhi)
  • good interpersonal and team-building skills
  • ability to document project activities.
