Assistant Manager Tax and Treasury

Main Purpose:


This role will be responsible for supporting Tax and Treasury Manager in managing the organization's taxation affairs in Pakistan BU. This includes developing and executing effective tax strategies, supports proper reporting for taxes to internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for evaluating business exposure and assessing the financial impact of risk of loss.



Qualifications/Requirements



Accountabilities:

  • Ensures compliance with all tax laws and regulations, Liaise with tax authorities and consultants on tax-related matters, supports proper reporting for applicable taxes under US GAAP, and optimizes responsible tax planning.
  • Ensures timely and accurate filing of all relevant direct and indirect tax returns
  • Implements local tax strategy/AOP and partners with internal stakeholders to optimize taxes in the context of business objectives
  • Supports finance and other business areas with information and advice regarding all tax matters; redirecting or escalating requests
  • Keep abreast of the latest tax legislation and provide practical tax advice and solution. Evaluate tax implications of businesses.
  • Executes tax policy, compliance, documentation and Develop & implement tax initiatives
  • Prepares tax records, reports and other related materials in compliance with tax laws and regulations
  • Manages tax audits and notices, payments and periodical statutory filing
  • Ensuring timely & accurate monthly submission of tax and treasury reporting schedules
  • Ensuring all payments related to Pakistan BU are processed timely as per agreed SLA in compliance with governing regulations
  • Supporting planning teams to deliver OCF targets for payments related to Tax & Treasury
  • Management of Working Capital Requirements & Ensuring Sufficient Funds availability for the business. Ensuring Management and timely renewal of Running Facilities with Scheduled & Revolving Banks
  • Liaising with the Internal & External Stakeholders for Issuance of Guarantees required under due course including Corporate Approvals & Alignments
  • Payroll Management including compliance with laws
  • Provide technical expertise to support strategies related to insurance and risk management
  • Ensuring compliance with GCS Control Requirements and timely testing
  • Any other ad-hoc projects as per business requirement
Knowledge:

  • CA/ACCA/ICAEW/CIMA/CFA
  • Tax and Treasury
  • Business Fundamentals
  • Detailed Understanding of US GAAP, IFRS and Tax Laws
Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years articles with an accounting firm
  • 6 years of post-qualification experience in finance and tax function from a reputable organization.
