About the Position:

 

Responsible for all procurement related to consumables, CAPEX, projects, sheet metal, R&M, etc.


 

Specifically, your key responsibilities are as follows:


 

Strategy

  • Align with the business on their priority areas ensuring cost savings
  • Get involved with business plans at the budgeting stage
  • Comprehensively analyse the spend data to identify addressable spending and maximize Spend Under Management
  • Prepare a category wise plan to address the key spend categories identifying areas where contracts could be consolidated
  • Design vendor evaluation/ diligence performance scorecard for each major category of spend

 

Cost Optimization

  • Prioritize spending against budget
  • Aligning procurement in a way to keep stock in hand at an adequate minimum level
  • Consider holding cost before ordering bulk quantities
  • Design mechanism to oversight market trends especially pricing related to sheet metal

 

Operations

  • Create annual sourcing plan for all key spend categories
  • Comprehensively capture the business requirements to identify the right set of vendors capable of proving the product or service
  • On confirmation of the shortlisted vendors, capture comprehensive user requirements to create a thorough RFP/RFQ document
  • Managing team to create a detailed comparative statement with a like-to-like comparison of quotations
  • Manage the tendering process in a timely manner ensuring fairness and transparency in the process
  • Monitor Performance of suppliers against KPI’s set out in the operational procurement contracts.

 

Buyer Function

  • Application of metallurgical composition knowledge, prevailing market trends, and industry-wide substitutes
  • Strategize the cost escalation in proportion to an increase in material cost
  • Evolve best pricing option along with cost reduction through consolidation of contracts
  • Evaluate new suppliers in the market and aggressively monitor vendor diligence through Vendor performance Scorecard
  • Lead the procurement team with direct responsibility of managing all procurement contracts and Purchase Orders
  • Be the point of contact for managing the expectations from the respective HOD for the respective category of spend.
  • Search ways for cost reduction through alternate sourcing without compromising on quality
  • Minimize cash purchases and procurement through advances

 

Governance and Compliance

  • Ensure proper communication of procurement policy to all Head of the department in accordance with the DoA.
  • Monitor the procurement process and uphold the policy by ensuring compliance
  • Escalate policy violations to audit and senior management

 

About You:

  • Degree in Procurement / Supply Chain - University Graduate preferably Masters
  • Minimum 7+ experience in procurement
  • Working Experience of Good ERP
  • Hands-on experience of Procure-to-pay cycle
  • Must have strong strategic skills, negotiations skills, Leadership skills, time management skills, computer skills, and team motivation skills
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills, Team player, Customer Expectation Management
