Introduction


The Resource Development department at the Aga Khan University primarily focuses on cultivating donor relations and all things pertaining to fundraising for the University and the Hospital. The department aims to develop mutually beneficial relationships with its various diverse supporters globally, and aids the University in its mission through generating philanthropic and other financial support. The Resource Development team works with donors to continue building a positive impact within the lives of patients, and the greater community, and strives to continually increase the impact that it has in the future.

Responsibilities


Under the direction of the Director, Advancement Services, the Data Records Specialist will be a key member of the Advancement Services team, and will be responsible for the constituent database maintenance, including day-to-day data entry, data maintenance, and data cleansing, mailing lists projects, data export, email blasts, Raiser’s Edge reports and other assignments as requested. He/she will also be responsible for:

  • ensuring and maintaining the highest standards of data integrity for alumni, donor and constituent records
  • keeping the Raiser’s Edge database updated with new constituent information in a timely manner
  • writing database queries and produce a variety of lists and reports
  • providing database support before and after Resource Development events that may include assisting fundraisers with entering event rsvp/attendees and issuing periodically event related reports
  • continuously reviewing the database to ensure consistency of all data entries and security of donor information
  • communicating and coordinating the database related projects with other data entry staff and volunteers
  • assisting with day-to-day gift processing and reconciling, and act as a backup for colleagues in their absence.
  • training users on Raiser’s Edge as assigned and assist in providing support and training in use of applications, including orientation for all new staff and arrange specialized training in response to changes in staff roles and business processes
  • adhering to and apply best practices in Advancement Services
  • completing assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner and other related duties as determined by the Director of Advancement Services.

Requirements


You should have:

  • a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) with 3 to 5 years related experience or equivalent combination
  • an experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar contact management system
  • an ability to handle a large number of different projects simultaneously
  • ability to a manage a large and complex amount of information
  • consistent attention to detail and an ability to deliver on projects in a timely manner
  • demonstrated experience with online and standard software applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel) and Mailchimp / Politemail
  • a results-driven and service-oriented positive attitude
  • special attention to responding in a timely manner, with accuracy and precision
  • an ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.
