Under the overall supervision of the WHO Representative, the incumbent is expected to undertake the following duties at the WHO Regional Reference Laboratory for the Polio Eradication Initiative, Department of Virology, National Institute of Health, Islamabad:

Provide technical assistance to the WHO Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) in Pakistan in terms of data processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.

Perform regular data checks for quality and data integrity and ensure the existing data systems are efficiently operational.

Initiate data investigation and perform exploratory analysis using statistical methods to help the polio laboratory to develop progress reports based on virological data in monitoring laboratory operations.

Support in poliovirus epidemiological data analysis in term of spatial and temporal trends.

Develop and manage geospatial mapping reports of laboratory generated virological data using GIS applications.

Support laboratory director and coordinator in preparing analysis reports based on data trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant laboratory testing information.

Support and train laboratory technical and scientific staff in building their skills on data cleaning, troubleshooting, analysis and managing tasks related to web-based laboratory database system.

Undertake other relevant duties as directed by the polio laboratory director, coordinator and/or WR.
Educational and Professional Requirements:

BS degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.

At least 1 year of relevant experience in data analysis and statistical skills using common toolkits such as Python, R, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Tableau and Power-Bi.
