• To provide technical support to establish and maintain SARI/ILI and COVID-19 sentinel sites in the provinces and territories or assigned area as required.
• To train the Provincial, territorial and district Surveillance and Response Unit staff on SARI/ILI and COVID-19 surveillance.
• To coordinate collection of daily/weekly SARI/ILI data from sentinel sites, quality control, computerize and analysis of the data patterns:
• o Collect and compile the surveillance data from the Provinces, districts, Sentinel Sites as appropriate for the person placed
• o Make sure data are correct and complete by data quality audit and regular feedback
• o Report the daily / weekly data to the central level from provinces/territories
• o Carry out case/outbreak investigation and initial response when needed
• o Distribute feedback reports to the respective province, districts and Sentinel Sites
• o Facilitate to train the Sentinel sites surveillance staff on case definition, data collection and timely reporting
• o Support in active as well as passive case search and to conduct epidemiological investigation of cluster of cases in health facilities if required
• To conduct data analysis and produce daily/weekly Epidemiological reports for sharing with the relevant authorities for immediate action when required.
• Assist the Federal and provincial WHO teams in preparing regular updates and reports.
• Report immediately to the team lead of any unusual disease trend or clustering of cases detected through data analysis.
• Keep a close liaison with the Respective department of health for activities related to Surveillance and data collection.
• Perform reasonable and related tasks as may be assigned.

Duration of contract: six months

• Good computer data analysis skills
• Good Understanding, speaking, reading and writing ability in English, Urdu and other local languages

Language requirements

• Expert knowledge of English and local language.
