Aga Khan University - Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) was established in July 1993 with the overall objective of becoming a leader in educational reform and improvement, especially in developing countries. The aim of the Institute is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of schools and other educational institutions in the country through innovation, policy development, practice, training and research.

The study on Assessing Teachers’ Pedagogical Practices and Students’ Learning Outcomes in Mathematics and Science Across Primary and Secondary School Levels funded by Higher Education Commission will aim to analyse a demographically representative sample of children and teachers across the country to gather evidence on how educators perceive existing educational methods and to identify teaching approaches which give students the strongest grasp of concepts in these two areas.

This is a short-term grant-funded contractual position for a period of four (4) months.

• a Master degree in the field of Social Sciences or related field of educational research from an HEC recognized or foreign university/institution
• at least two years’ of relevant research experience preferably in Education or Social Sciences research
• strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in English language (both verbal and written)
• report writing skills
• data analysis skills (at least basic analysis both quantitative and qualitative)
• the ability to co-ordinate and efficiently communicate with respondents regarding meetings
• strong organizational skills with ability to multitask
• proficiency in computer usage with command on Microsoft Office and, preferably, statistical software i.e. SPSS.
